The air cleaner uses a disposable paper element on carbureted, diesel and fuel injected engines. The air filter should be replaced at least every two years or 24,000–30,000 miles. If the car is driven in a dry and dusty climate, clean or replace the air filter twice as often. Inspect the air cleaner element for accumulations of dirt and oil and wipe the air cleaner housing with a cleaner. Replace the element as necessary.
NOTE: In severe service, such as off-road use or in extremely dusty areas, the maintenance interval should be cut in half.
