- Remove the transmission.
- Remove the clutch assembly.
- Attach a ring gear brake, 49-1881-060 to the engine.
- Straighten the tabs of the lockwasher and remove the flywheel nut using
wrench 49-0820-035.
- Remove the flywheel with puller 49-0839-305A. To install:
- Apply engine oil to the rear housing seal.
- Position the flywheel on the shaft, aligning the key and keyway.
- Apply sealer to both sides of the lockwasher and place it on the shaft.
- Install the nut and tighten it to 362 ft. lbs.
- Bend the tabs of the lockwasher.
- Install the clutch and transmission.
