REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Drain the cooling system.
  2. If necessary, remove the fan shroud.

    CAUTION
When draining engine coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted to ethylene glycol antifreeze and could drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantity. Always drain coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or is several years old.

  3. If necessary, remove the fan. Don't lay the fan, if equipped with a fan clutch, on its side. Fluid will be lost and the fan clutch will have to be replaced.
  4. Disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses.
  5. Disconnect the coolant reservoir hose.
  6. On trucks with automatic transmission, disconnect the cooler lines.
  7. Unbolt and remove the radiator. To install:
  8. Install the radiator against the supports and tighten the mounting bolts.
  9. Install the hoses on the radiator. Tighten the clamps.
  10. Install the fan.
  11. If equipped, install the fan shroud.
  12. Refill the cooling system with the specified amount and type of coolant. Run the engine and check for leaks.
