The diesel has only 2 basic emission control systems: a crankcase ventilation system, and a system which maintains a slight vacuum in the intake manifold, known as the Intake Shutter Valve System. The only maintenance required of the crankcase ventilation system is to occasionally check the cleanliness of the inside of the hose.
