Condenser

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

CAUTION
CAUTION Please refer to Section 1 before discharging the compressor or disconnecting air conditioning lines. Damage to the air conditioning system or personal injury could result. Consult your local laws concerning refrigerant discharge and recycling. In many areas it may be illegal for anyone but a certified technician to service the A/C system. Always use an approved recovery station when discharging the air conditioning.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Discharge the refrigerant system. See Section 1.
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  3. As required, remove the front grille, air seal cover and side lamps. Remove the clamps and the hood lock brace, if installed.
  4. Disconnect and plug the condenser inlet, outlet and liquid lines to prevent the entry of moisture and dirt.
  5. Remove the necessary components (such as the cooling fan) in order to gain access to the condenser mounting bolts.
  6. Remove the condenser mounting bolts. Remove the condensor from the vehicle. To install:
  7. Lower the condenser into the vehicle and secure it with the mounting bolts. Reinstall all other parts.
  8. Connect the suction, discharge and liquid lines to the condenser.
  9. Install the hood lock brace and the clamps, if removed. Install the air seal and the front grille and side lamps.

    NOTE: If a new condensor was installed, add approximately 30cc of clean compressor oil to the unit.

  10. Install the air cleaner assembly. Connect the negative battery cable.
  11. Evacuate, charge and test the system as described in Section 1.
