REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

Raise and support the front end on jackstands.
Unbolt the stabilizer bar-to-frame clamps.
Unbolt the stabilizer bar from the lower control arms. Keep all the bushings, washers and spacers in order.
Check all parts for wear or damage and replace anything which looks suspicious.
Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten all fasteners lightly, then torque them to specifications with the wheels on the ground.
Stabilizer bar-to-control arm nut:
1972–84: 25 ft. lbs.
1986: 34 ft. lbs.
Stabilizer-to-frame clamp bolts: 16 ft. lbs.
