DRAIN & REFILL

1990–93 Vehicles Except MX-3 with G5M-R Transaxle, 323 4WD and 1993 626/MX-6/Probe
  1. Raise and safely support the front of the vehicle securely on jackstands.
  2. Slide a drain pan under the transaxle. Remove the speedometer driven gear or speed sensor on the top of the transaxle case.
  3. Remove the drain plug on the bottom of the transaxle case.
  4. When the fluid has been completely drained, install the drain plug and tighten to 29–43 ft. lbs. (39–59 Nm).
  5. Fill the transaxle to the proper level.
  6. Install the speedometer driven gear or speed sensor. Lower the vehicle.
MX-3 with G5M-R Transaxle, 323 4WD, 1993 626/MX-6/Probe and All 1994–98 vehicles
  1. Raise and safely support the front of the vehicle securely on jackstands.
  2. Slide a drain pan under the transaxle. Remove the drain plug and the washer and drain the oil into the drain pan.
  3. Remove the oil level plug and the washer from the side of the transaxle case.
  4. When the fluid has been completely drained, install the drain plug with a new washer and tighten to 29–43 ft. lbs. (40–58 Nm).
  5. Fill the transaxle through the oil level plug hole until the fluid level reaches the bottom of the oil level plug hole.
  6. Install the oil level plug with a new washer and tighten to 29–43 ft. lbs. (40–58 Nm).
  7. Lower the vehicle.
