REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Ensure that the ignition is in the OFF position.
  2. If necessary, loosen the air intake hose clamp.

    Fig. 1: To remove the air cleaner filter, first loosen the air intake hose clamp. This will allow better movement of the cover

  3. Disconnect the airflow meter electrical connector from the cover.

    Fig. 2: Detach any electrical wire harness connectors from the air cleaner housing cover . . .

  4. Remove the air cleaner housing cover bolts and/or unclip the air cleaner housing cover clips.

    Fig. 3: . . . then unbolt, or unclip, the covers fasteners

    Fig. 4: Carefully lift the housing cover upwards then slide the cover sideways to disengage any retaining tabs (arrow)

    Fig. 5: If necessary, detach the housing cover from the air intake tube by pulling it outward

  5. Carefully lift the air cleaner housing cover upward to gain access to the filter.
  6. If necessary for access, remove the housing cover.
  7. Remove the air cleaner element from the housing.

    Fig. 6: Remove the old air filter element from the housing and inspect it. Clean the inside of the housing of dirt/debris

  8. Inspect the air cleaner element and replace as necessary.

    To install:

  9. Clean any dirt or other foreign material from the air filter housing.
  10. Install the air filter element and the air filter cover.
  11. Install and tighten the housing cover bolts and/or fasten the housing cover clips.
  12. Connect the electrical connector to the air flow meter.
