Use the following procedure to input a new code number into the audio unit
when the previous code has been canceled. As with disarming the unit, these
steps are under a 10 second time limit. When inputting a new code into the
system, make sure to record it and keep it in a safe place. Also, an old code
can be reentered, or reused.
WARNING
Three consecutive errors, including turning the ignition switch to OFF and
disconnecting the audio unit, will activate the anti-theft system and render
the unit completely inoperative. If this occurs, you must contact your vehicle
manufacturer.
- Turn the ignition switch to the accessory (ACC) position and turn off
the audio unit.
- Press and hold the SCAN and AUTO-M buttons simultaneously for approximately
1.5 seconds until the word CODE appears on the display.
- Press the SCAN and AUTO-M buttons again until bars (–) appear on
the display.
- Use channel buttons 1–4 to input the new code number. Press button
1 for the first digit, 2 for the second, etc. (if your code were 2321, you
would press button 1 three times to display, 0, 1, then 2 followed by pressing
button 2 four times to display 0, 1, 2 then 3 and so on). If at any point
during the input of the code the display is deleted, you must start over
at Step 1.
- With the code number displayed, press and hold the SCAN and AUTO-M buttons
for approximately 1.5 seconds until a beep is heard. The word CODE will
be displayed for about 5 seconds. After it disappears, the code number has
been set.
