Headlights

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

CAUTION
The halogen headlight contains pressurized gas. It may shatter if the glass envelope is scratched or dropped. Handle the headlight carefully. Keep the headlight out of the reach of children.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

    Fig. 3: . . . and pull the bulb from the lens assembly

  2. Turn the plastic surrounding ring, or cover, located in the back of the headlight lens assembly and slide it backwards (ring) or remove it (cover).
  3. If necessary, unfasten the bulb clasp.
  4. Remove the bulb from the headlight housing.
  5. Unplug the bulb from the electrical connector.

    To install:

  6. Engage the electrical connector to the headlight bulb, caution should be taken not to touch the bulb, as oil from skin can cause the bulb to burn out prematurely.
  7. Install the bulb into the headlight assembly.
  8. If necessary, fasten the bulb retaining clasp.
  9. Install the retaining collar or cover and securely tighten it.
  10. Connect the negative battery cable.
