- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning
of this section.
- Remove the strut assembly from the vehicle.
- Compress the coil spring and remove the piston rod nut.
- Remove or disconnect the following:
- Upper strut mount
- Spring upper seat
- Coil spring
To install:
- Install or connect the following:
- Coil spring
- Spring upper seat
- Upper strut mount. Tighten the piston rod nut to 48–59 ft. lbs.
(64–80 Nm).
- Remove the spring compressor and install the strut assembly to the vehicle.
- Check the wheel alignment and adjust as necessary.
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning
of this section.
- Support the vehicle at the frame and support the axle with a jack.
- Remove or disconnect the following:
- Rear wheels
- Height sensor link
- Stabilizer bar
- Parking brake cable bracket
- Shock absorber
- Lower the rear axle and remove the coil springs.
To install:
- Place the coil springs on the spring seats and raise the axle into position.
- Install or connect the following:
- Shock absorber. Tighten the fasteners to 56–75 ft. lbs. (76–102
Nm).
- Parking brake cable bracket. Tighten the bolt to 14–18 ft. lbs.
(19–25 Nm).
- Stabilizer bar. Tighten the fasteners to 14–18 ft. lbs. (19–25
Nm).
- Height sensor link. Tighten the nut to 70–104 inch lbs. (8–12
Nm).
- Rear wheels
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning
of this section.
- Remove the strut assembly from the vehicle.
- Compress the coil spring and remove the piston rod nut.
- Remove or disconnect the following:
- Upper strut mount
- Strut mount bearing
- Spring upper seat
- Coil spring
To install:
- Install or connect the following:
- Coil spring
- Spring upper seat
- Strut mount bearing
- Upper strut mount. Tighten the piston rod nut to 66–94 ft. lbs.
(90–127 Nm).
- Remove the spring compressor and install the strut assembly to the vehicle.
- Check the wheel alignment and adjust as necessary.
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning
of this section.
- Support the vehicle at the frame and support the axle with a jack.
- Remove or disconnect the following:
- Rear wheels
- Lateral rod
- Shock absorber
- Lower the rear axle and remove the coil springs.
To install:
- Place the coil springs on the spring seats and raise the axle into position.
- Install or connect the following:
- Shock absorber. Tighten the upper nut to 56–76 ft. lbs. (76–102
Nm) and the lower bolt to 71–94 ft. lbs. (97–127 Nm).
- Lateral rod. Tighten the fastener to 76–101 ft. lbs. (102–137
Nm).
