Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

  1. Remove the flywheel or flexplate.
  2. Clean the crankshaft rear oil seal and cylinder block before removing the rear oil seal.
  3. Use a jet plug remover tool (310-005) to remove the seal.

To Install:

NOTE: Apply the correct motor oil to the seal and seal edge.

  1. Put the crankshaft rear oil seal onto the rear main seal replacer tool (303-178) then install onto the crankshaft.
  2. Alternately tighten the bolts on the main seal replacer tool until the seal is properly seated.
  3. Install the flywheel or flexplate.
