To Remove:
- Disconnect the negative battery cable and the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor.
- Remove the air cleaner outlet tube, the accelerator control splash shield, and the accelerator cable.
- Disconnect the crankcase vent hose from the valve cover.
- Disconnect the fuel charging wiring from the idle air control valve and the throttle position sensor.
- Disconnect the intake side spark plug wires from the front ignition coil.
- Disconnect the exhaust side spark plug wire retainers and the engine control wiring harness.
- Remove the throttle body and throw away the gasket then remove the vacuum line from the EGR valve and intake manifold.
- Remove the valve cover and throw away the gasket.
- Clean and examine the sealing surfaces.
To Install:
- Clean and examine the sealing surfaces.
- Install the valve cover with a new gasket. Torque to 80-115 in-lb (9-13 Nm).
- Install the vacuum line to the EGR valve and intake manifold.
- Install the throttle body with a new gasket.
- Connect the exhaust side spark plug wire retainers and the engine control wiring harness to the studs on the valve cover.
- Connect the intake side spark plug wires to the front ignition coil.
- Connect the fuel charging wiring to the idle air control valve and the throttle position sensor.
- Connect the crankcase vent hose to the valve cover.
- Install the accelerator cable and the accelerator control splash shield.
- Install the air cleaner outlet tube.
- Connect the IAT sensor and the negative battery cable.
