To Remove:
- Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS).
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the center instrument panel finish panel by first removing the screws then disconnecting the electrical connectors.
- Remove the screws and the hood latch release handle.
- Remove the screws and the instrument panel steering column cover.
- Remove the bolts and the lower instrument panel reinforcement.
- If present, move the column gear shift lever to the side.
- Remove the screws and take the instrument cluster finish panel out of the instrument panel.
- Disconnect the headlight and the dimmer switch electrical connectors and remove the instrument cluster finish panel and accompanying screws.
- If the vehicle has automatic transmission, remove the transmission range indicator.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the instrument cluster.
To Install:
- Install the instrument cluster and connect the electrical connectors.
- If the vehicle has automatic transmission, install the transmission range indicator.
- Install the instrument cluster finish panel and screws then connect the headlight and dimmer switch electrical connectors. Tighten the screws to 18-26 in-lb (2-3 Nm).
- Place the instrument cluster finish panel into the instrument panel and install the screws.
- If present, move the column-mounted transmission range selector lever back to its original position.
- Install the lower instrument panel reinforcement and bolts. Torque to 9 ft-lb (12 Nm).
- Install the screws and the instrument panel steering column cover.
- Install the screws and the hood latch release handle. Tighten to 25-33 in-lb (2.7-3.7 Nm).
- Install the center instrument panel finish panel and screws then connect the electrical connectors. Tighten the screws to 18-26 in-lb (2-3 Nm).
- Connect the negative battery cable.
