Digital Transmission Range (TR) Sensor

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

1. Put the vehicle in NEUTRAL then raise and safely support the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the shift cable from the manual control lever.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector for the digital transmission range (TR) sensor.
4. Remove the manual control outer lever by first removing the nut.
5. Remove the screws and the digital TR sensor.

To Install:

1. Install the digital TR sensor and loosely install the screws.

   CAUTION
   The sensor may bind or become damaged if one screw is tightened before the other is tightened.

   NOTE: The manual lever must be in NEUTRAL.

2. Using the TR sensor alignment gauge (307-351), align the digital TR sensor and tighten the screws in an alternating sequence. Torque to 89 in-lb (10 Nm).
3. Install the manual control outer lever and nut. Torque to 35 ft-lb (48 Nm).
4. Connect the electrical connector for the digital TR sensor.
5. Connect the shift cable to the manual control lever.
6. Make sure the shift cable is properly adjusted.
