Master Cylinder

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

WARNING

  1. Disconnect the brake fluid level warning switch.
  2. Remove the wiring retainer clip from the master cylinder.
  3. If the vehicle has speed control, disconnect the speed control deactivator switch.
  4. Disconnect the two brake tubes, then plug the tubes and the brake master cylinder ports.
  5. Remove the brake master cylinder and nuts.

To Install:

NOTE: Before installation, bleed the master cylinder and the brake system.

  1. Install the brake master cylinder and nuts. Torque to 17 ft-lb (23 Nm).
  2. Unplug the two brake tubes and the brake master cylinder ports, then connect the two brake tubes. Torque to 13 ft-lb (18 Nm).
  3. If the vehicle has speed control, connect the speed control deactivator switch.
  4. Install the wiring retainer clip to the master cylinder.
  5. Connect the brake fluid level warning switch.
