Timing Chain & Sprockets

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the engine front cover.
4. Turn the crankshaft and line up the timing marks then remove the bolt.
5. As an assembly, remove the timing chain, camshaft sprocket, and the crankshaft sprocket.

To Install:

1. Line up the timing marks.
2. As an assembly, install the timing chain, camshaft sprocket, and crankshaft sprocket.
3. Install the bolt. Torque to 40-51 ft-lb (55-70 Nm).
4. Install the engine front cover.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
