Wheel Hub & Bearing

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

  1. Remove the brake disc.
  2. Remove and discard the nut and washer assembly.

    CAUTION
    Do not separate the outboard CV joint from the hub with a hammer. This can cause damage to both the outboard CV threads and to the internal components.

  3. Using the front wheel hub remover (205-D070), separate the outboard CV joint from the hub.
  4. Remove the dust shield.
  5. Remove the bolt and detach the anti-lock sensor from the wheel hub.

    CAUTION
    Be careful not to overextend the CV joint and boots when removing the hub and bearing assembly.

  6. Remove the bolts and the wheel hub.

To Install:

  1. Install the wheel hub and bolts. Torque to 85 ft-lb (115 Nm).
  2. Attach the anti-lock sensor to the wheel hub and install the bolt. Torque to 80 in-lb (9 Nm).
  3. Install the dust shield. Torque to 9 ft-lb (12 Nm).
  4. Connect the outboard CV joint to the hub.
  5. Install a new nut and washer assembly. Torque to 162 ft-lb (220 Nm).
  6. Install the brake disc.
