Lower Control Arm

REMOVAL AND & INSTALLATION

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
2. Remove or disconnect the following:
   • Negative battery cable
   • Front wheel
   • Brake rotor shield
   • Shock absorber
   • Stabilizer bar link hardware
3. Using a spring compressor tool, compress the coil spring.
   • Lower ball joint from the spindle
   • Lower control arm bolts
   • Lower control arm and coil spring

   To install:

4. Install or connect the following:
   • Coil spring to the lower control arm
   • Lower control arm assembly and install the lower arm adjustment cam bolt. Torque the forward nut first to 148 ft. lbs. (201 Nm) then torque the remaining bolts to 148 ft. lbs. (201 Nm).
   • Lower ball joint. Torque the castle nut to 113 ft. lbs. (153 Nm).
   • Front stabilizer bar link. Torque the nut to 21 ft. lbs. (29 Nm). Remove the coil spring compressor tool.
   • Shock absorber. Torque the nuts to 41 ft. lbs. (55 Nm).
   • Brake rotor shield
   • Front wheel
   • Negative battery cable
