To Remove:
WARNING
Never remove the radiator cap from a hot engine. Allow the engine to completely cool before removing the radiator cap.
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions.
- Partially drain the cooling system.
CAUTION
Be careful not to break the fittings on the heater core when removing the hoses.
- Remove the clamps from the heater hoses.
- Remove the heater hoses from the heater core. Carefully twist the hoses from the fittings.
- Remove the heater hoses from the engine.
To Install:
- Ensure the radiator draincock is completely closed.
- Fill the radiator with the proper mixture and type of coolant.
- Install the radiator cap.
- Start the engine and hold at 2,500 rpm engine speed for approximately eight minutes until the thermostat opens.
- Maintain 2,500 rpm engine speed for an additional three minutes.
- Increase engine speed to 4,000 rpm and hold for five seconds.
- Return engine speed to 2,500 rpm and hold for an additional three minutes.
- Stop the engine, check for leaks, and refill the cooling system as necessary.
CAUTION
Always fill the cooling system with the same type of coolant that was drained from the system. Do not mix coolant types.
