Flexplate

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

1. Remove the transmission.
2. Install the flexplate locking tool (303-103), or its equivalent, and remove the flexplate bolts.

To Install:

NOTE: Engine balancing is not necessary. Balance weights should not be installed on the new flywheel.

NOTE: Special nuts are required for installation. Do not use standard nuts.

1. Install the flexplate.
2. Install the flexplate locking tool (303-103), or its equivalent.
3. Tighten the nuts in the sequence shown below according to the following steps:
   • Step 1: Torque to 37 ft-lb (50 Nm).
   • Step 2: Torque to 59 ft-lb (80 Nm).
   • Step 3: Torque to 83 ft-lb (112 Nm).
