Removal & Installation

To Remove:

1. Remove the transmission.
2. Remove the clutch.
3. Install the flywheel locking tool (303-103), or its equivalent, and remove the bolts and the flywheel.

To Install:

NOTE: Engine balancing is not necessary. Balance weights should not be installed on the new flywheel.

NOTE: Special bolts are required for installation. Do not use standard bolts.

1. Inspect the pilot bearing. Install a new pilot bearing as necessary.
2. Install the flywheel.
3. Install the flywheel locking tool (303-103).
4. Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown according to the following steps:
   • Step 1: Torque to 37 ft-lb (50 Nm).
   • Step 2: Torque to 59 ft-lb (80 Nm).
   • Step 3: Torque to 83 ft-lb (112 Nm).

5. Install the clutch.
6. Install the transmission.
