Headlamp Assembly

Removal & Installation

Bulb Replacement

To Remove:

WARNING
Use care with the halogen bulb because it contains gas that is under pressure. If the glass envelope is scratched or the bulb is dropped, it can shatter. Only handle the bulb by its base and avoid touching the glass envelope.

NOTE: When replacing the bulb you must remove the headlamp housing.

NOTE: Removing a headlamp bulb for an extended period of time can affect performance of the headlamp because contaminants can enter the headlamp assembly and settle on the lens and reflector. For this reason the headlamp bulb should never be removed until just before a new bulb is installed. Never turn the headlamps on when the bulb has been removed.

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  2. Remove the headlamp bulb retainer by turning it counterclockwise about 1/8th the way around.
  3. Remove the headlamp bulb.

To Install:

  1. Install the headlamp bulb.
  2. Install the headlamp bulb retainer and turn it clockwise about 1/8th the way around.
  3. Connect the electrical connector.
