Crankshaft Pulley

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
3. Remove the fan blade and the fan shroud.
4. Remove the accessory drive belt.
5. Remove the crankshaft pulley.
6. Remove the bolt and washer.
7. Using a crankshaft vibration damper remover (303-009), remove the crankshaft damper.
8. Remove the crankshaft key, if necessary.

To Install:

NOTE: Apply a drop of silicone gasket sealant, securing the crankshaft key in position.

1. If removed, install the crankshaft key.
2. Using a crankshaft vibration damper installer (303-175), install the crankshaft damper. Before installing the crankshaft damper, coat the sealing surfaces of the crankshaft damper with clean engine oil. Next, coat the crankshaft damper keyway with silicone gasket sealant.
3. Install the bolt and washer.
   • Torque to 107 ft-lb (145 Nm).
4. Install the crankshaft pulley.
   • Torque to 46 ft-lb (63 Nm).
5. Install the drive belt.
6. Install the fan blade and the fan shroud.
7. Install the air cleaner outlet tube.
8. Connect the negative battery cable.
