CAUTION
The EVAP system must not be pressurized to more than 3.48 kPa (14 inches H2O) or the EVAP system may be damaged as a result.
- Connect the evaporative emission system leak tester (310-F007) to the evaporative emission test port.
- Close the canister vent solenoid.
- Pressurize the evaporative emission system to 3.48 kPa (14 inches H2O).
- Monitor the system for two minutes using the worldwide diagnostic system (418-F224), the New Generation STAR tester (418-F052), or an equivalent. The system fails the leak test if the pressure falls below 2.0 kPa (8 inches H2O).
- Repair any leaks as necessary.
- Repeat the leak test until the system remains above 2.0 kPa (8 inches H2O) after the two-minute test period.
