Removal & Installation

To Remove:

1. Turn the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position and turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Remove the driver air bag module.
3. Loosen the steering wheel bolt.

   CAUTION
   Removing the steering wheel without using a puller may cause damage to the column bearings.

4. Using the differential bearing remover (205-116), remove the steering wheel.
5. Remove and throw away the original steering wheel bolt.
6. While you route the wires from the clockspring through the steering wheel, remove the steering wheel.

To Install:

1. Install the steering wheel.
2. Install a new steering wheel bolt.
   • Torque 30 ft-lb (40 Nm).
3. Install the driver air bag module.
