To Remove:
CAUTION
If the pads are worn out to or past their required thickness above the metal backing plate or rivets, replace the pads in complete axle sets.
To Install:
NOTE: Unless installing new pins, do not remove the anchor pins.
CAUTION
When installing service brake pads, replacement of the stainless steel slippers is mandatory, even if the slippers appear to be undamaged. Be sure the slippers are positioned correctly with the slipper ends fitting snugly against the outboard end of the anchor plate rail.
NOTE: Clean the mating surfaces of the anchor plate slipper.
NOTE: The inboard pad has a wear-indicator tab.
NOTE: The caliper pistons must be compressed with a C-clamp and a wooden block if you are installing new pads.
