Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Put the vehicle in NEUTRAL and place it on a hoist.
3. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the bolts and the CKP sensor.

NOTE: The new CKP sensor must touch the damper. The new sensor has wear tabs that will wear off after several engine revolutions.

To Install:

1. Install the CKP sensor and bolts.
   • Torque to 89 in. lbs. (10 Nm).

   NOTE: The new CKP sensor must touch the damper. The new sensor has wear tabs that will wear off after several engine revolutions.

2. Connect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
3. Lower the vehicle and put it in PARK.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
