Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

1. Disconnect the vacuum line and the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve tube fitting.
2. Remove the EGR valve bolts and the EGR valve, then throw away the gasket.
3. Carefully clean the EGR valve sealing surfaces before installing a new gasket.

NOTE: Be careful when cleaning the EGR valve sealing surfaces because they are made of soft metal.

To Install:

1. Carefully clean the EGR valve sealing surfaces, then install a new gasket.
2. Install the EGR valve bolts and the EGR valve.
   • Torque to 15 ft-lb (20 Nm).
3. Connect the vacuum line and the EGR valve tube fitting.
   • Torque to 25 ft-lb (34 Nm).
