Removal & Installation

To Remove:

WARNING
Do not smoke or have lit tobacco or an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable substances are always present during such procedures and may accidentally be ignited, causing possible personal injury or vehicle damage.

CAUTION
Do not clean the throttle body bore and plate area. These have a special coating and cleaning these may cause damage to the throttle body.

1. Remove the air cleaner tube.
2. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor.
3. If present, disconnect the speed control cable and accelerator cable.
4. Remove the throttle body and throw away the gasket.

To Install:

1. Install throttle body and new gasket.
   • Torque to 80 in. lbs. (9 Nm).
2. If present, connect the speed control cable and accelerator cable.
3. Connect the TP sensor.
4. Install the air cleaner tube.
