Mounting Arm & Pivot Shaft

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

  1. Turn on the windshield wipers and stop them when the blades are pointing straight up.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the right and left windshield wiper pivot arms by pulling up on each pivot arm and pulling out on its retainer tab.
  4. Remove the screws and the right access cover.
  5. Move the power distribution box to the side and remove the left access cover and screws.
  6. Unsnap the wiper motor clip from the right mounting arm and pivot shaft by reaching through the right-hand access cover opening.
  7. Disconnect the windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft on each side and move both of them away from the windshield wiper motor.
  8. Remove the right and left pivot nuts.
  9. Remove the right and left mounting arm and pivot shafts through the right-hand access opening.

To Install:

CAUTION
To try and prevent damage to the windshield wiper adapter and connecting arm clip, make sure that the clip is completely seated before installing the adapter and connecting the arm clip on the windshield wiper motor crank pin.

NOTE: Install the right-hand windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft onto the windshield wiper motor crank pin until it snaps into place.

  1. Install the right and left mounting arm and pivot shafts.
  2. Install the right and left pivot nuts.
  3. Connect the windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft on each side.
  4. Snap the wiper motor clip to the right mounting arm and pivot shaft.
  5. Install the left access cover and screws then move the power distribution box back to its original position.
  6. Install the right access cover and screws.
  7. Install the right and left windshield wiper pivot arms.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
