To Remove:
- Disconnect the transmission shift cable from the transmission column shift selector tube.
- Disconnect the transmission shift cable from the steering column bracket.
- Push the rubber grommet and shift cable through the bulkhead.
- Raise and safely support the vehicle.
- Disconnect the transmission shift cable from the manual control lever.
- Take off the clip that prevents the lock tabs from being depressed.
- Depress the lock tabs to release the transmission shift cable and disconnect the cable from the bracket.
- Remove the transmission shift cable bracket from the automatic transmission after first removing the bolts.
To Install:
- Install the transmission shift cable bracket onto the automatic transmission.
- Torque to 18 ft-lb (25 Nm).
- Connect the transmission shift cable to the bracket.
- Install the clip into its original place.
- Connect the transmission shift cable to the manual control lever. Move the manual lever to OVERDRIVE to do this.
- Safely lower the vehicle.
- Place the rubber grommet and shift cable back into their original positions.
- Connect the transmission shift cable to the steering column bracket.
- Connect the transmission shift cable to the transmission column shift selector tube.
- Make any necessary adjustments to the transmission shift cable.
