Check the level in the brake and clutch master cylinder reservoirs regularly, at least every 4,000–7,500 miles (6,441–12,077 km). On plastic, translucent reservoirs, the fluid level can be seen without removing the cap. If the level is below or near the MIN mark, clean any dirt away from the top, then remove the cap from the reservoir and add brake fluid to the MAX mark. Always add fluid slowly, so that bubbles do not form in the hydraulic lines. Reinstall the cap.

CAUTION
Be careful not to spill brake fluid on painted surfaces, as it is an all-too-effective
paint remover.
Bleed the brake system if bubbles are apparent. See Section 9.
NOTE: If the brake warning light comes on when the brake pedal is depressed and the parking brake is off, stop the vehicle immediately and check the fluid level in the brake master cylinder reservoir.
