COMPONENT REPLACEMENT

Air Pump

1. Disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses at the pump.
2. Unfasten the adjusting bolt and remove the drive belt.
3. Support the pump and remove the mounting bolts. Lift out the pump.

   To install:

4. Lower the pump onto its mounting and install the retaining bolts.
5. Install the drive belt onto the pulley, then insert the adjusting bolt. Adjust the drive belt to specification.
6. Connect the inlet and outlet hoses to the pump.

Air Control Valve

1. Disconnect the vacuum lines from the valve.
2. Disconnect the wiring from the valve.
3. Disconnect the air hoses from the valve.
4. Unbolt and remove the valve.

   To install:

5. Place the valve into position and bolt it in place.
6. Connect the air hoses, wiring and vacuum lines to the valve.

Check Valve/Reed Valve

1978–82 MODELS

1. Disconnect the inlet air hose.
2. Unscrew the valve from the exhaust manifold.

   To install:

3. Screw the valve into the exhaust manifold.
4. Connect the inlet air hose.
