Air gap adjustment is possible on 1987–1988 2.6L engines.
- Using a wrench on the crankshaft pulley nut, turn the distributor shaft
until one of the high points on the reluctor is aligned with the pickup coil
face.
- Loosen the set screws and move the pickup coil until the gap between it
and the signal rotor is 0.8mm, measured with a brass or plastic feeler gauge.
- Tighten the set screws and recheck the gap.
