Raise and safely support the vehicle.
Remove the driveshaft after match-marking the flange and shaft for installation
reference. On models with a double offset joint, push a rag into the joint
to keep the shaft straight so boot damage will not occur.
Hold the companion flange with a suitable tool, and remove the mounting
nut. Remove the flange. It may be necessary to use a puller, on some models,
to remove the flange.
Pry out the old seal. Clean the mounting surface. Apply oil to the lips
of the seal and install the seal using the appropriate driver. Install the
flange and the driveshaft.
