CONTROL ARM BUSHING REPLACEMENT

Rear Wheel Drive MPV and All B Series Pick-up Models

The control arm bushings are not serviced separately. If the bushings require service, the front suspension upper control arm will have to be replaced.

MPV Models With 4WD
  1. Remove the lower control arm.
  2. Secure the lower control arm in a bench vise protected with brass mounting pads.

  3. Cut the rim section of the front lower arm bushing.
  4. Remove the front bushing from the control arm by using special bushing press tools 49-G033-102, 49-F027-009 and a press.
  5. Using special press tools 49-U034-202, 49-G026-103 and a press, remove the rear lower control arm bushing.
  6. Apply soapy water to the outside surface of the new front lower control arm bushing.
  7. Using special tools 49-G033-102, 49-F027-009 and a press, install the new front bushing into the lower control arm.

  8. Set a new rear control arm bushing into the lower control arm with the direction marks on the bushing aligned with marks on the control arm.
  9. Using special tools 49-U034-202, 49-G026-103 and a press, install the new rear bushing into the lower control arm.
