The brake pads can be visually inspected after the front wheels have been removed. A cut out in the top of the caliper is provided. Check the lining thickness of both the outboard and inboard pads. If the lining is worn within 1⁄8 inch (3mm) of its metal backing (check local inspection requirements) replace all of the brake pads.
