- Raise and support the front end on jackstands.
- Disconnect and cap the brake lines.
- Remove the valve mounting bolts.
- Install the new valve, tighten the bolts, connect the brake lines and bleed
the system.
- Adjust the inclination angle of the valve:
- Place the truck on level ground.
- Make sure that there is no cargo in the truck and no people.
- Fill the tires to the recommended inflation pressure.
- Attach angle gauge 49 U043 003, or equivalent, to the valve. The correct
angle should be 7°± 1 1⁄2 °.
If not:
- Loosen the mounting bolts and move the valve until the angle is correct.
- Tighten the bolts.
- Raise and support the front end on jackstands.
- Disconnect and cap the brake lines.
- Remove the valve mounting bolts.
- Install the new valve, tighten the bolts, connect the brake lines and bleed
the system.
- Adjust the inclination angle of the valve:
- Place the van on level ground.
- Make sure that there is no cargo in the van and no people.
- Fill the tires to the recommended inflation pressure.
- Attach angle gauge 49 U043 003, or equivalent, to the valve. The correct
angle should be 8 1⁄2 °±
1°. If not:
- Loosen the mounting bolts and move the valve until the angle is correct.
- Tighten the bolts.
