MPV MODELS

1994–95

1. Cancel the memory of malfunctions by disconnecting the negative battery cable for at least twenty seconds. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Connect System Selector Tool 49-B019-9A0 to the data link connector, located on the left side of the engine compartment.

3. Set switch A to position 1, then set TEST switch to SELF-TEST.
4. Connect Self-Diagnosis Checker Tool 49-H018-9A1 to the System Selector and a ground.
5. Set the select switch to position A.
6. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, but do not start the engine.
7. Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperatures. Run the engine at 2000 rpm for three minutes. Check that no codes are displayed.

1996–98

1. After performing any necessary repairs, connect the New Generation Star (NGS) diagnostic tool, or equivalent, to the data link connector located under the driver side dashboard.
2. Select the "CLEAR CODES" function and erase the diagnostic trouble codes from the NGS memory.
3. Perform the OBD II drive mode procedure twice.
4. Start the engine.
5. Perform the diagnostic trouble code (Reading Codes) inspection procedure again and verify that no codes are displayed.
